Summary
Chris Katanski is a biotech leader and tRNA therapy specialist with eight years of experimental and translational experience, currently Head of Research at MesoRNA. He co-founded 4SR Bioscience to advance tRNA-based treatments for genetic mutations and partnered with hC Biosciences to move this novel modality toward the clinic, combining entrepreneurial drive with hands-on bench expertise in yeast genetics, RNA biochemistry, qPCR, protein purification, and in vitro translation. Trained as a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics at the University of Chicago, his academic work probed protein phase separation in stress responses, giving him a deep mechanistic lens for therapeutic discovery. Comfortable with data analysis in Python and R and experienced running teams from academia to startup, he blends scientific rigor with product-minded leadership. Outside the lab he’s unusually enthusiastic about space, improv, D&D, and hunting down perfectly average local bars, a sign of his curious, people-first leadership style.
