Summary
Chris Metcalfe is a Director and co-owner of How Might We, a Cape Town–based UX research studio that helps organisations embed customer insight into product and service strategy. With roughly a decade of focused UX experience and earlier roots in industrial design, sound engineering and event production, he specialises in qualitative research, research ops and training that make ongoing user research practical for teams. He previously led customer-centric initiatives at Deloitte Digital Africa—building usability labs, running Design Thinking workshops and mapping complex service journeys for large enterprises. Known for making experiences disappear when they work well, he’s deliberately narrowed his practice to research in the last two years to keep customer-centred design from being the forgotten step. A scholarship stint in Malmö and a background in sound and photography underscore his multidisciplinary approach and knack for human-centred storytelling.
