Summary
👤
SeniorChris Pearce is a senior front-end engineer with over two decades of UI craftsmanship and 11 years in senior roles, known for systemising interfaces through robust design systems and embedding accessibility into product culture. He repeatedly builds domain-agnostic component libraries and token systems that accelerate delivery and reduce technical debt across organisations from startups to enterprises like Qantas and Atlassian. Chris pairs a designer’s eye with engineering discipline—writing clear documentation, improving developer experience with tooling, and enforcing performance and Core Web Vitals. He mentors teams, runs guilds and workshops, and has led design-system adoption end-to-end, including Figma-to-code ambitions to automate UI curation. Not obvious from job titles: he’s equally comfortable driving org-wide change (accessibility audits, company presentations) and rolling up his sleeves to componentise complex flows like authentication to measurably improve speed and maintainability. Based in Wollongong, Australia, he’s focused now on automating and scaling design systems so teams spend less time hand-coding and more time composing resilient, inclusive UI foundations.
