Top SchoolChristian Askeland is a software architect and engineer with 17 years of experience building cross-platform technical applications, from medical imaging and visualization to embedded systems and industrial measurement. He blends hands-on C++/Python development with architecture and project leadership, shipping complex systems that use Qt, VTK/ITK, OpenCV and modern CI/CD pipelines. His background spans R&D, product engineering and management across startups and research labs, including leading the open-source CustusX surgical navigation platform and recent work on embedded Rust/ThreadX projects. Comfortable across Linux, macOS, iOS and Windows, he pairs numerical/geometrical programming expertise with practical systems integration and GUI design. Notably, he has oscillated between deep technical delivery and R&D management roles, often stepping back into coding to tackle core imaging and calibration challenges. Based in Trondheim, Norway, he brings a pragmatic, research-informed approach to solving real-world imaging and control problems.
