Christian Grefe is a particle physicist and research associate with 15 years’ experience leading detector and physics analysis efforts on the ATLAS experiment at CERN, focused on Higgs→ττ measurements, hadronic tau reconstruction, track reconstruction, and machine learning applications. He has repeatedly combined hands-on algorithm development (including TRT particle ID and track/DQM work) with leadership roles as coordinator of the Tracking, TRT software, Tau reconstruction and Higgs-to-Leptons working groups. Based in Geneva and affiliated with Bonn University, he supervises graduate students and teaches at bachelor/master level while driving cross-collaboration detector optimization efforts such as for CLIC. Known for translating complex detector performance challenges into robust software and analysis workflows, he blends experimental rigor with practical ML-based solutions to improve tau and track reconstruction performance.
