Senior🎓
Top SchoolChung-you Shih is a Senior Software Developer with 12 years of experience who blends deep experimental physics and quantum information expertise with practical software and control-system engineering. After a PhD at the University of Waterloo, he led trapped-ion experiments and developed precision optical addressing, GPU-accelerated algorithms, and JIT waveform compilers before transitioning to production engineering at Robinhood where he builds tokenized stocks, the Robinhood Wallet, and blockchain components. He is fluent across low-level embedded C++ (microcontrollers, SPI), high-performance Python tooling, gRPC/VISA integrations, and machine-learning-enhanced readout systems—skills that let him bridge lab hardware and scalable financial products. He has a track record of mentoring students and shipping complex instruments (including a custom UV microscope objective and mirrored AOD addressing), showing hands-on hardware proficiency uncommon in software engineers. Based in the United States, he combines rigorous academic research (Google Scholar, ORCID) with product-focused development, making him effective at turning cutting-edge physics tools into robust, deployable systems.
