Top SchoolCJ Trowbridge is a consultant and sustainable community developer with a decade of experience blending nonprofit affordable housing, off-grid infrastructure design, and civic organizing from Oakland. With an undergraduate degree in Urban Studies and Planning, an MBA focused on Ethical AI, and prior software engineering leadership, CJ bridges technical systems thinking with grassroots land-trust experiments that crowdfund and place land into commons for free-living communities. They’ve led program delivery and stakeholder coordination at organizations from Institute for the Future to Chinatown Community Development Center and cofounded a nonprofit that runs permaculture trainings on community-owned lands. Known for sourcing recycled materials, building SOP-driven grant programs, and testing early OpenAI products, CJ combines practical build skills with strategic investment thesis: back sustainable alternatives to incumbent institutions. Ambitious about scaling resilient, collectively governed communities, they’re uniquely positioned at the intersection of tech, ethics, and place-based social innovation.
