Top SchoolCliff Hammerschmidt is a veteran technology leader and VP of Technology based in Vancouver with over 14 years of hands-on and leadership experience delivering production systems across startups and enterprise teams. He programs in a wide range of languages (from C/C++ and Java to JavaScript/TypeScript and SQL) and has repeatedly built high-performance distributed systems—leaderboards, RPC clusters, sharding and hot-migration storage—optimized for low latency and operational resilience. Cliff champions lean, team-centric development: end-to-end ownership, minimal WIP, automated CI/CD and a culture that values people, learning, and the freedom to fail and recover. He co-founded Enoki Solutions and organized Vancouver’s large developer meetup, reflecting a persistent commitment to community and mentorship. Influenced by Reinertsen, Anderson and Weinberg, he pairs deep technical craft with strong opinions on process that consistently translate into teams that ship daily with low defect rates. An unexpected detail: beyond engineering he holds advanced wine and spirits certifications, bringing an analytical palate and disciplined taste for quality to both code and culture.
