Top SchoolCole Peters is a Data Engineer with 12 years of professional experience and over five years focused on senior data engineering roles, currently building data infrastructure at MarineLabs from Victoria, BC. He specializes in Python-driven ETL, web scraping, data warehousing, and distributed systems on AWS, having migrated legacy ingestion systems to microservices using Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, EventBridge, and Athena. At Invenia he led the Data Engineering team, managed production PostgreSQL/Aurora databases with zero-downtime blue/green deployments, and handled release management, hiring, and network administration. His work on the Datafeeds pipeline showcases an ability to ingest heterogeneous formats (JSON, XML, XLSX, GRIB, PDF) robustly and keep ML pipelines fed in real time. Beyond engineering, he brings a creative design sensibility from his background as a sound and visual artist, which informs pragmatic yet inventive approaches to data problems. Colleagues rely on him for translating large-scale project plans into owned, deliverable tasks and operational resilience.
