Colin Lu is a data-minded educational consultant and recent Computer Engineering graduate from UIUC transitioning into a junior Data Analyst role. He combines eight years of hands-on teaching and student coaching with practical data experience from a Data Science internship where he built classification and NLP models for healthcare and Mandarin text. As a freelance consultant and instructor in San Jose, he tracks student metrics, improves outcomes (including admissions to UC Berkeley and UCLA), and develops custom lesson plans in object-oriented programming and data structures. Currently an apprentice with COOP, he’s gaining client-facing analytics experience with Tableau and Google Analytics while completing industry certifications. Colin’s uncommon blend of classroom coaching and applied ML/NLP work gives him a strong foundation for turning educational and business questions into measurable insights.
