Top SchoolCollin Giguere is a data-focused software engineer and teaching associate with eight years of experience bridging academia and applied data science. He holds dual bachelors in Computer Science and Mathematics and is completing an MS in Computer Science with a Data Science emphasis, graduating with a consistent 3.9 GPA. At UMass Amherst he teaches introductory CS at scale while coordinating graders and TAs, and his research and internships include building end-to-end pipelines—from georeferencing 5,000 historical aerial photos to nightly model validation frameworks. Comfortable with both algorithms and practical engineering, he has worked on genomic data processing, predictive model validation, and automated geospatial workflows. Outside work he channels his problem-solving curiosity into tactile puzzles, custom hardware builds, and caring for exotic pets and bonsai, a detail that underscores his patient, hands-on approach to complex problems.
