Top SchoolConstantin Cheptea is an engineering manager based in Cluj-Napoca with over a decade at the intersection of engineering, product thinking, and people development. He has led cross-functional teams delivering mobile, backend, and embedded solutions across Android, iOS, Unity3D, React Native, Elixir, and more, favoring the right tool for the problem rather than chasing stacks. At Crafting Software he helped set company technical direction, built competency matrices and growth frameworks, and ran regular learning initiatives that institutionalized knowledge sharing. His projects range from AI-enabled self-healing proofs-of-concept for insurance data platforms to accessibility-focused mobile games for autistic children, showing a knack for mission-driven software. He believes in empowering teams with ownership, measuring outcomes to improve, and “making himself redundant” by preparing others to step up. Pragmatic, product-oriented, and community-active (conference workshops and meetups), he blends hands-on delivery with scalable people practices.
