Senior🎓
Top SchoolCory Schillaci is a Lead Engineer specializing in perception systems with 11 years of experience applying machine learning and physics to real-world robotics and embedded platforms. He holds a PhD in Physics from UC Berkeley and has moved from academic computational research into industry roles building onboard vision and sensor fusion for autonomous ocean vehicles and moonshot projects. At Saildrone he selected hardware and deployed infrared and visible-spectrum computer vision on energy-constrained vehicles, and more recently led perception for X’s Tidal project before joining Tidal as Lead Engineer. Cory combines rigorous theoretical training with hands-on systems engineering, comfortable from low-level C/OpenMP/MPI simulation work to Python-based ML pipelines and geospatial backends. He’s as practiced in designing custom algorithms and EM-style inference as he is integrating sensors and firmware for production autonomy. Based in Berkeley, he brings a scientist’s curiosity to pragmatic product delivery in challenging sensing environments.
