Dan Bucholtz is a seasoned Staff+ software engineer and high-agency tech lead with nearly two decades of experience and a decade-plus focused on frontend and platform engineering. Currently at Square and previously a Staff Engineer at Twitter, he combines leadership with hands-on work—co-creating key parts of the Ionic ecosystem and StencilJS and driving design-system and developer-productivity efforts. His open-source footprint includes major contributions to Ionic Framework, ionic-app-scripts (millions of downloads), and Stencil core/site where he improved routing, lazy-loading, modals, and tooling around web components. He has deep experience unifying cross-platform UI and build systems, migrating platforms, and introducing test and CI automation at scale. Based in Milwaukee, he still consults selectively and brings an unusual mix of public-facing advocacy, core-framework engineering, and pragmatic product-minded architecture.
