Daniel De Oliveira is an Associate Professor at Universidade Federal Fluminense and co-leader of its Database Research Group, with a D.Sc. in Systems and Computing from UFRJ and over a decade of academic leadership in data-intensive systems. His research spans data science, cloud computing, provenance management, scientific workflows, parallel data processing and bioinformatics, resulting in 150+ publications and a Morgan & Claypool book on data-intensive workflow management. A CNPq productivity fellow and FAPERJ “Jovem Cientista do Nosso Estado,” he has led multiple funded projects (including CNPq Universais and FAPERJ grants) that bridge theory and practical workflow systems for scalable cloud environments. He has chaired several international program committees and serves as an ad-hoc reviewer, evidencing influence in the global database and workflow communities. Based in Greater Rio de Janeiro, he combines rigorous research with hands-on project leadership and mentoring as principal investigator of the UFFeScience group.
