Top SchoolDaniel Kimberg is a software engineer with 15 years of industry experience at Google building systems that organize and surface information, following a prior decade as an academic cognitive neuroscientist. He brings a rare blend of deep scientific training (PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience from Carnegie Mellon) and production-grade engineering, developing image-analysis software and novel data-analysis methods before moving into large-scale software at Google. Based in New York, he excels at translating complex research questions into robust, real-world systems and tooling. Colleagues benefit from his ability to bridge domain expertise and engineering pragmatism, making him effective on interdisciplinary teams that tackle hard data and signal-processing problems. Despite a minimalist public GitHub persona, his background suggests strong analytical rigor and a preference for substantive contributions over self-promotion.
