Top SchoolDaniel Medina is a resident artist-researcher and seasoned software engineer with 11 years of experience blending systems architecture, metadata standards, and geospatial/EO tooling from Lisbon. He has led engineering teams and infrastructure at organizations like CarbonSpaceTech and Tesselo, designing reproducible cloud deployments, observability, and data pipelines for satellite and environmental platforms. His current work focuses on formalizing knowledge representation—mapping metadata standards into graph-based architectures and building tools that turn archival and markdown content into virtual exhibits. Comfortable across backend, DevOps, and ML stacks, he bridges academic rigor (set theory, description logics, mereology) with playful, art-driven explorations of cognition and agency. Colleagues describe him as ethics-led and open-science minded, actively translating cultural heritage and EO standards into interoperable, explainable systems.
