Top SchoolDaniel Varela is a Staff Software Engineer in San Francisco with a decade of experience building production software and currently leading development of Jet, an AI personal assistant. He combines a strong systems and civil-engineering foundation (B.S. in Civil Engineering, Transportation Systems) with hands-on full‑stack and cloud experience gained across public-sector infrastructure projects and private tech roles. At JLL he drives scalable engineering efforts, and earlier roles range from MERN-focused bootcamp projects to building intelligent transportation system tooling for cities. Comfortable bridging technical strategy and implementation, he brings a practical habit of automating workflows and turning complex, regulated requirements into deployable systems. An engineer who started in public works and evolved into AI product engineering, he uniquely understands both operational constraints and user-facing software delivery.
