Top SchoolDanny Varner is a product-minded CTO based in Portland with 13 years of experience building cloud-native, full-stack systems and leading engineering organizations. He moves between hands-on architecture and team-building, specializing in LLMs, AWS, data & analytics, and rapid delivery practices that favor shipping and outcome alignment. Danny has led large, distributed teams and transformed release cadences and operations—most notably architecting serverless IoT platforms and scaling field-operations systems at Vacasa and Silver Spring Networks. He combines Python and TypeScript expertise with a strong hiring and coaching track record to create autonomous, high-performing teams. Known for digging into the "why" before the "what," he frames technical decisions by product impact and measurable outcomes. Outside of leadership, he brings a practitioner’s curiosity for systems internals and pragmatic automation that reduce cycle times and increase quality.
