Dario Menasce is a veteran high-energy physicist and staff research scientist at INFN with a career spanning pioneering detector R&D and long-term contributions to major experiments including CERN's early silicon active targets, Fermilab’s E687/FOCUS, and CMS where he manages the Pixel Detector Configuration Database. He holds a Doctor in Physics from the Università di Milano (laude) and helped develop some of the first microstrip telescopes that enabled the first precision measurements of charm meson lifetimes. Beyond experiment construction and operations, he has led scientific computing initiatives, taught university courses in computing and scientific computing, and today serves as Vice President of the National Committee on Scientific Computing of INFN. His work combines deep hardware and software expertise in particle detectors with a sustained record of translating cutting-edge instrumentation into high-impact physics results.
