Sr Software Engineer at Elsevier
Amsterdam, North Holland, Netherlands
Summary
👤
SeniorDariush Yousefi is a senior software engineer in Amsterdam with 11 years of experience designing and delivering real-time, highly available, fault-tolerant distributed systems across publishing, telecom, messaging, and e-commerce domains. He combines a technology-agnostic mindset with deep practical expertise in functional programming, Reactive architectures, NoSQL, and JVM ecosystems—often stepping into legacy Java codebases while driving modern microservice and ML-infused solutions. At Elsevier he led projects that improved submission acceptance by over 23% using deep neural networks and created cross-team processes to avoid scalability and cost pitfalls. Previously he built high-throughput identity and onboarding platforms, authored JVM-focused open-source tooling (sbt-docker-compose and an SBT dependency upgrade plugin), and operated production Cassandra clusters and custom RPC frameworks. Colleagues know him as a hands-on coach who spreads resilient design practices to prevent single points of failure and accelerate team delivery.
