Senior🎓
Top SchoolDarjan Salaj is a Senior Machine Learning Engineer with 11 years of experience building production-grade ML and big data systems, currently shaping digital twin and retail solutions at inovex in Karlsruhe. He bridges deep academic research—holding a PhD and publishing in venues like NeurIPS and Nature Communications—with practical engineering, having developed scalable entity-matching, deduplication, and automated packaging recommendation pipelines for international retail. His background in computational neuroscience and neuromorphic-compatible recurrent spiking networks informs a strong niche in temporal and time-series modeling, especially with TensorFlow and novel hardware (Intel Loihi, SpiNNaker). Darjan has repeatedly taken projects from data analysis through deployed codebases, from battery state-of-health models to RL performance improvements, showing both independent initiative and cross-disciplinary impact. Colleagues benefit from his rare mix of research rigor and hands-on distributed systems experience, enabling robust, performance-focused ML solutions for complex enterprise workflows.
