Top SchoolDave Fontenot is a founder and freelance iOS engineer based in San Francisco with 12 years of experience building communities, startups, and early-stage companies. He launched MHacks—the world’s largest hackathon—and has since scaled hackathon ecosystems and founded programs that connect early engineers to breakout companies. As a former General Partner at Backend Capital he wrote early checks into multiple unicorns, and today runs HF0 Residency to let repeat founders focus purely on building. His background blends product engineering, community design, and venture instincts, informed by immersive mindfulness retreats in monasteries across Asia and California. Known for turning events into enduring networks, he quietly pairs hands-on iOS craftsmanship with systems-level thinking about how to accelerate innovation at scale.
