Top SchoolDavid Backstein is an AI-focused technology leader and founder who has built a career around visual search and computer vision, currently serving as CEO of pixolution and AI Director at THE BRETTINGHAMS in Berlin. With a master's specialization in Computer Vision and a history lecturing at HTW Berlin, he combines academic depth with hands-on product leadership to scale pixolution Flow for massive image collections. He has repeatedly translated research-grade vision tech into commercial products since founding his first IT company in 2011 and later expanding pixolution into new markets. A founding member of AI Guild, he now emphasizes custom AI modules that tailor visual search to specific enterprise needs. Colleagues know him for blending pragmatic engineering with entrepreneurial drive—and for preferring not to narrate himself in the third person, despite how it reads online.
