Top SchoolDavid Chan is a Principal Software Engineer based in New York with 12 years of deep expertise in web application and security engineering. He combines leadership roles at Okta and Salesforce with a hacker mindset—running a persistent independent bug bounty practice since 2014—bringing both product-scale engineering and adversarial perspective to secure design. His background includes building application security programs at Mozilla, Yelp, and startup Patchwork Security, giving him experience across open-source, enterprise, and founder environments. A UC Berkeley CS graduate, he’s known for translating complex threat models into practical, deployable protections while still enjoying the craft of “breaking” systems to make them stronger.
