David De Boer is a freelance software architect and developer with 15+ years of hands-on experience designing cloud-native, serverless and event-driven systems across public institutions and heritage networks in the Netherlands. An AWS Certified Solutions Architect and Zend Certified PHP Engineer, he blends domain-driven design, CQRS and test-driven practices with pragmatism—shipping production services on Kubernetes and serverless AWS stacks. He’s a prolific open-source back-end contributor (notably to the Erlang Zotonic CMS and several widely used PHP libraries), comfortable in Erlang/Elixir, Kotlin, PHP and TypeScript and across databases from PostgreSQL to Elasticsearch and linked data (RDF). At organizations like the Koninklijke Bibliotheek and Netwerk Digitaal Erfgoed he built foundational linked-data search and dataset-register services, demonstrating a rare mix of cultural-heritage domain knowledge and systems architecture. His background in Classics and philosophy informs a methodical, mentorship-focused approach to software design and team coaching.
