David Dooley is an Application Security Senior Manager with a two-decade technical foundation and over 10 years in customer-facing leadership roles, currently securing applications for a major financial services firm. He has built and scaled Professional Services and Customer Success organizations at security and cloud-native companies like Contrast Security, Noname Security, and RapidFort, turning manual processes into automated, measurable outcomes. Known for bridging deep technical delivery (from static analysis and secure SDLC engagements to API and container workload hardening) with commercial impact, he consistently accelerates adoption and ties services to ARR. Based in New Jersey, he pairs a rare mix of hands-on engineering pedigree—from C and Python work in telecoms to managing multi-site deployments—with board-level advisory experience. An unlikely combo of biochemistry, computer science and law studies hints at his interdisciplinary problem-solving and pragmatic approach to risk and governance.

Jul 2021 - Dec 2024

OWASP Benchmark is a test suite designed to verify the speed and accuracy of software vulnerability detection tools. A fully runnable web app written in Java, it supports analysis by Static (SAST), Dynamic (DAST), and Runtime (IAST) tools that support Java. The idea is that since it is fully runnable and all the vulnerabilities are actually exploitable, it’s a fair test for any kind of vulnerability detection tool. For more details on this project, please see the OWASP Benchmark Project home page.
