David Esparza is a founder, professor, and principal software engineer with over a decade of experience building spatial and machine learning systems for enterprise and research settings. He has led implementation of spatial-temporal ML algorithms and visualization tools at Oracle, contributed to checkout and pricing systems at Amazon, and founded dnd learning to teach algorithms through a book and course. As a longtime educator at Universidad Panamericana and a CIMAT-trained researcher, he blends rigorous probabilistic/Bayesian modeling expertise with practical product delivery. He’s conducted 150+ technical interviews as an Interview Engineer and is skilled at turning complex spatial dependencies into actionable features for regression, classification, clustering and outlier detection. Notably, his background spans both embedded systems and advanced nonparametric Bayesian research, giving him uncommon breadth from low-level engineering to academic machine learning.

Perhaps my most ambitious project. Since I started to get involved in competitive programming I used to keep a record of the algorithms and problems I found interesting. Then, during my research stay in Ritsumeikan the university closed for about 2 months due summer vacations, and since I did not have to much money to travel, I started organizing all the algorithms I had, and that is how I started this book. It didn't take me to long to realize that it was too much work for a single person, so after some time I invited my friend Toño to colaborate with me and he glady accepted. Toño participated in the ACM-ICPC world finals twice, and then we were collegues at Oracle, so his knowledge in algorithms is beyond doubt. I still think that this book is too much for two persons, so feel free to contact me if you want to colaborate with us.
