Top SchoolDavid Fernández is a Senior Software Engineer and Cloud Solutions Architect with over a decade of experience designing cloud-native, event-driven systems and scalable SaaS from the ground up. He has led migrations between AWS and GCP, modernized monoliths to microservices, and optimized high-concurrency WebSocket platforms while improving observability with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Tempo and Grafana. Comfortable across Node.js, TypeScript, Ruby on Rails and serverless patterns, he automates infrastructure with Terraform and Kubernetes and has driven CI/CD transformations using GitHub Actions. At BrightSign he replaced an in-house OAuth2 system with Keycloak, reduced memory usage in a service handling hundreds of thousands of connections, and introduced NATS for event-driven workflows. He’s also the creator of a widely used open-source Serverless plugin for safe Lambda canary deployments, showing a commitment to developer ergonomics beyond his day job. Based in A Coruña, Spain, David pairs hands-on engineering with end-to-end ownership of resilient, performant systems.
