David Haxton

Summary
👤
Senior🎓
Top SchoolDavid Haxton is a seasoned software engineer with 11 years of experience building consumer and AI products across startups and large tech firms in the San Francisco Bay Area. He’s shipped at-scale messaging and AI features at WhatsApp and Character.AI, founded a consumer AI startup that reached 10k DAU with unusually high engagement, and is now working at xAI. Comfortable across the stack, David combines rapid prototyping instincts from startup life with production-hardened practices learned at Facebook and Asana. He has a knack for taking risky ideas to production without catastrophes—“never destroyed a production database on day one” is his unofficial credo. Curious and irreverent, he blends hacker playfulness (beep boop?) with disciplined engineering to push toward AGI.
