Top SchoolDavid Li is a Senior Software Engineer in San Francisco with 11 years of experience building ML-driven product experiences, currently incubating recommendations for Instagram at Meta. He combines a strong academic foundation from Johns Hopkins (BS/MS in CS and Math) with hands-on work across content relevance, Reels, and growth ML systems at Meta/Facebook. His early internships at Bloomberg, Pinterest, and Facebook produced production-facing systems—from a database prototype and search-query review framework to a real-time C++/Objective-C visualization tool for computational photography. David favors product-facing ML over finance, focuses on scalable relevance and retention problems, and has repeatedly moved ideas from prototype to launched features. Colleagues would note his mix of rigorous quantitative training and practical engineering—able to optimize models and systems while shipping user-facing improvements.
