David Martin is a veteran software leader and founder with over 30 years of technical experience and a decade focused on AI, cloud and edge solutions. As Founder & CTO of Age@Home he builds privacy-first, open-source smart-home systems that apply on-device AI to improve eldercare and wellness KPIs. He blends systems-level UNIX and cloud architecture expertise with hands-on machine learning work—having led IBM teams in data mining and ML R&D and later architected healthcare solutions at Dell and IBM. David has repeatedly turned research into production: from global OpenStack and enterprise deployments to an eldercare proof-of-concept that repurposes automated surveillance into a caring assistant. Based in San Jose, he pairs a background in computer science (MS UW–Madison, BA UC Berkeley) with exploratory work in quantum computing and a hacker’s taste for integrating IoT, Docker, YOLO and GPU tooling. An experienced technologist and strategist, he focuses on pragmatic, accountable AI systems that respect privacy and real-world operational constraints.
