Senior🎓
Top SchoolDavid Phillips is a Principal Software Engineer with 14 years of professional experience and over two decades of hands-on programming passion that started with an Apple IIe and LEGO kits. Currently at Microsoft, he has a track record of designing, delivering and evolving mission-critical systems across startups and enterprise firms including Central 1 Credit Union and XPO Technologies, and has held CTO-level technical roles. He blends deep technical craft with a focus on team impact, mentoring, and engineering culture, believing the largest gains come from lifting others as well as shipping quality code. Based in Seattle with a BSc from Simon Fraser University and functional programming training in Scala, he pairs pragmatic engineering with perpetual learning and empathy-driven leadership. An understated differentiator: he sustains long-term side projects (e.g., Driving Abstract Inspector and Parking Ticket Finder) that reflect a blend of curiosity, product sense and real-world problem solving.
