Top SchoolDavid Pinkawa is an engineering manager and seasoned Systems/DevOps professional with nearly a decade of experience leading infrastructure teams and delivering automation at scale. At Paylocity he grew from hands-on systems engineer to managing a 12-person virtualization organization responsible for hypervisor, storage, OS automation, and data center physical infrastructure while retaining player‑coach responsibilities for code and architecture. He has driven measurable operational gains—cutting VM build times from hours to minutes using Ansible and Packer—and led large migrations, acquisitions integrations, and identity/SAML initiatives across enterprise environments. Comfortable balancing budgetary strategy, roadmapping, and professional development, he also brings a background in teaching and content creation that sharpens his communication and mentorship approach.
