David Truong is a founder-engineer with 11+ years of hands-on experience building and investing in frontier-tech startups, from consumer mobile hits to deep DeFi infrastructure. He co-founded multiple ventures, helped early-stage projects scale (including Aave as its fourth engineer and Coinbase when it was under 100 people), and has repeatedly combined product, engineering, and token/economic design. His open-source contributions include back-end integrations for prominent DeFi tooling such as the DeFi Pulse adapters, where he implemented Aave market support, rates, TVL, and Balancer staking. Based in Iași, Romania, he now runs Day Zero Labs to incubate and support nascent frontier startups after a recent AI/DAO tooling and solidity-auditing pivot. Known for iterating through many ideas and failures, he pairs pragmatic engineering with investor-level judgment and frequent mentorship of founders. An uncommon strength is his ability to move between low-level smart-contract dives and product-led growth decisions.
