Denis Brockus is a Senior Firmware Engineer with over three decades of deep embedded systems experience and six years in recent roles at top cloud and consumer companies. He has architected firmware and system software across storage, wearables, GNSS, and input subsystems—shaping products from disk drive controllers to fitness watches and ChromeOS embedded controllers. A C-centric engineer and systems designer, Denis has repeatedly led ports to RTOS and embedded Linux, implemented power- and storage-efficient drivers, and designed sensor fusion and logging subsystems. At Google he measured and optimized touchpad latency and brought USB-C PD and EC code into Zephyr; at Fitbit he created NOR-flash FIFO storage and GNSS stacks. Now at AWS he continues to apply low-level performance and reliability expertise to cloud hardware-adjacent firmware problems from his base in Boulder, Colorado. Unusually for a seasoned architect, he still writes and debugs device drivers and simulation tests himself, blending hands-on coding with long-range system design.
