Dylan Starink is a passionate software engineer and MS student in Computer Science at Cal Poly with eight years of hands-on experience building systems that span from embedded robotics to interactive web apps. At SRI International he turned early concepts into a Docker Compose HMI data collection toolkit and built a realistic flight-simulator web app using TypeScript, React, Redux, and CesiumJS, while also performing Python-based analysis of human-subject experiments. As Robotics Club Software Lead he designed a ROS2 publish–subscribe architecture for an autonomous data vessel and implemented custom Protobuf-over-LoRa telemetry, coordinating with NOAA’s data center on real-world data plans. Known for treating engineering as a hobby, he blends full-stack web skills with data analysis and field-grade communications, and is pursuing advanced AI/ML study to push that intersection further.
