Senior🎓
Top SchoolEli Segal is a veteran R&D and engineering leader with over 25 years across defense, med-tech and agrotech, currently serving as VP R&D at Vertical Field. He excels at turning multidisciplinary concepts into production-ready systems—leading everything from HVAC and irrigation architectures to novel lighting and seedling-handling mechanisms that cut energy use and increase yield density. A former director at Elbit and Rafael, he blends military-grade systems engineering rigor with startup agility, having founded a design firm and led containerized cultivation programs at Seedo. Eli is hands-on in team building, process consolidation and NPI, and he repeatedly converts tight MVP schedules into validated demos and patents. Known for “technological courage,” he focuses on customer-driven, cost-conscious innovation and practical differentiation rather than speculative features. Based in Israel and trained at the Technion (MEng, Systems Engineering; BS Mechanical Engineering, Summa Cum Laude), he pairs deep technical roots with a track record of commercializing complex systems.
