Top SchoolEric Gundersen is a seasoned technology founder and executive with 12 years of leadership experience steering mapping platform Mapbox from a Development Seed project to a global product, recently transitioning from CEO to Chair of the Board. He blends product, design and business acumen—having started as a designer and journalist—so he thinks deeply about user-facing experiences and the data infrastructures that power them. Based in Switzerland, Eric has a track record of scaling teams, shaping company culture, and translating nonprofit-focused geodata work into a commercial developer platform. He advises startups like Straightaway and brings a pragmatic, hands-on sensibility to governance, summed up in his motto “no passengers on the battleship,” which reflects his preference for ownership and operational involvement.
