Summary
Eric Jin is a process systems engineering leader with a decade of experience translating advanced thermal and chemical engineering research into commercial clean-energy technologies. Currently Head of Process System Engineering at Ammobia, he drives low-cost ammonia synthesis reactor and process design to enable scalable green fuel and fertilizer production. Previously he led system modeling, simulation, and DOE demonstration projects at Heliogen, guiding multi-disciplinary teams through FEED-level techno-economic analysis, equipment design, and commissioning of solar-thermal power and hydrogen systems. His background spans lab-scale experimentation and first-principles modeling from a Ph.D. at the University of Toronto, with hands-on prototyping, testing, and IP development in molten-salt and steam systems. Colleagues rely on him as a subject-matter expert who bridges R&D and productization—equally comfortable writing PFDs and leading HAZOPs while mentoring junior engineers. An entrepreneurially minded engineer, he has also launched student and social ventures, demonstrating a flair for organizing cross-institutional collaboration and translating ideas into impact.
