👤
SeniorErick Ruano is a Senior Software Developer II with over a decade building and scaling backend and platform systems for startups and regulated environments across Latin America. He specializes in Node.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL and cloud-native architectures on AWS/Azure, consistently driving cost reductions and faster developer onboarding. At Qubika he led an MVP that secured ~$500K in funding, designed a domain-tuned ranking algorithm that sped patient onboarding by days, and cut video storage and delivery costs by ~98% through runtime composition. He’s also reduced developer setup time from two weeks to three days on brownfield projects and automated onboarding so public-sector and NGO partners can launch programs in hours. A former CEO who scaled teams and shipped multiple SaaS products, Erick combines hands-on engineering with product and hiring leadership, often mentoring and interviewing senior hires. Based in Mixco, Guatemala, he focuses on resilient, observable platforms and pragmatic developer tooling that simplify high-stakes workflows.
