Top SchoolErik Yang is a software engineer based in San Francisco with 10 years of experience building scalable search and web systems, currently supporting Yelp’s large Elasticsearch clusters and developing near-real-time Lucene-backed search infrastructure. He has a proven track record of performance tuning at scale—improving ad search latency by 37% and increasing ad clicks by 2.3%—and has implemented GraphQL endpoints for core services like rewards and location tracking. Earlier roles at Tesla and startups reflect full-stack chops across web apps, database design, CI/CD, and production deployments (including HIPAA-compliant platforms). Comfortable in both product and infrastructure contexts, he blends hands-on engineering with systems thinking to deliver realtime, high-throughput services. An active problem-solver, he also brings experience orchestrating events and leading cross-functional projects from MVP to production.
