Top SchoolFelipe Rangel is a Software Development Engineer I at AWS with a dual degree in Software Engineering and Economics from the University of Miami and a decade of hands-on experience across C++, TypeScript, and Python. He blends cloud engineering and machine learning research—having implemented deep learning models for medical imaging and built AWS-backed imaging pipelines and REST APIs during multiple Amazon internships. Felipe has a track record of rapidly learning new stacks (from React/TypeScript to AWS services and Docker) and shipping production-ready plugins and architectures. Outside core engineering, he’s led campus chapters (founder of ALPFA UM, president of SHPE and Google DSC) and was selected for competitive leadership programs, showing a rare mix of technical depth and community-building. Based in New York, he’s especially interested in cloud, AI, and cybersecurity, and brings an economist’s analytical lens to system design and product trade-offs.
