Felix Kim is a Principal Engineering Staff member with over 20 years of research and software development experience spanning parallel computing, bioinformatics, mobile communications, and deep learning. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Systems from KAIST and has led projects from parallelized BLAST on 128-node clusters to LTE self-organizing network algorithms and Bluetooth–WiFi coexistence schedulers. At ETRI he now maintains the TANGO no-code neural network framework and teaches in the institute’s AI academy, bridging applied research and production ML tooling. Comfortable in C/C++ and Python with experience in databases and frameworks like Caffe and PyTorch, he combines low-level systems expertise with practical ML model deployment. A less obvious strength is his long history in standards and field deployments—he served as Korea’s delegate to 3GPP SA5—bringing protocol-level insight to modern ML-infused communications problems.
