Fernando Andrade Neto
Summary
👤
SeniorFernando Neto is a Senior Software Engineer with 12+ years building distributed systems and platform-level infrastructure, currently contributing at Airbnb after recent work on Meta’s Edge Data real-time pub/sub handling billions of events per minute. He brings deep production experience in Python, Java and JavaScript, full-stack design of REST/GraphQL APIs and mobile apps, and pragmatic expertise with SQL/NoSQL datastores and reliability-focused SLI/SLO improvements. He has led teams and programs at Work & Co—balancing hands-on coding with director-level responsibilities across multi-project, distributed teams—and co-founded a same-day delivery startup where he shipped end-to-end systems. Comfortable shifting between IC and leadership roles, he blends rigorous engineering practices (TDD, CI/CD, trunk-based development) with a long-standing interest in platform scalability and performance. An MSc in Computer Science and a history of building R&D incubators and high-throughput services reflect both academic depth and a bias for impactful, production-ready solutions.
