Summary
Foen Peng is an assistant professor and evolutionary biologist with a decade of interdisciplinary research experience bridging genomics, computational methods, and experimental engineering. Currently establishing a lab at Haverford College, Foen leverages GWAS, QTL mapping, transcriptomics, and CRISPR genome editing to dissect the genetic basis of host–parasite interactions and fibrosis, with translational interest in human fibrotic disease. Previous work at the University of Washington combined molecular genetics, 3D-printed experimental systems, embedded sensors, and computer vision to probe plant–pollinator dynamics, reflecting a rare blend of wet-lab, computational, and hardware skills. Trained with a PhD in Evolutionary Biology and a BS in Urban Planning, Foen brings both rigorous hypothesis-driven science and creative experimental design to their research program.
