Rockstar🎓
Top SchoolFolkert De Boer is a co-founder and ecologist with a PhD in Computational Biology who blends deep expertise in AI, evolutionary modeling and advanced C++ programming with hands-on fieldwork in ornithology and raptor migration monitoring. He translates ecological questions into technical solutions, having built biodiversity and citizen-science software (Zostera/Observation.org) and led AI teams while remaining active in international conservation projects from Batumi to the Netherlands. His work bridges simulation-driven theoretical biology and practical conservation—applying genetic algorithms and dynamic bioinformatics to real-world monitoring and decision support. Unusually, he pairs board-level conservation leadership and long-term field experience (ringing, migration counts) with research-grade computational skills, enabling sustainable nature-people solutions.
