Francesco Cesarini is a founder, author and lecturer with over two decades of deep expertise in Erlang/OTP and building soft real-time, highly available distributed systems for finance, telecoms, gaming, IoT and messaging. As Technical Director and co-founder of Erlang Solutions he helped grow the company from consultancy roots into a multi-national specialist, and was part of the team behind the OTP R1 release. He co-authored two O’Reilly books on Erlang and routinely teaches concurrency-oriented programming at the University of Oxford and international masterclasses and MOOCs. A founding member and director of the Erlang Ecosystem Foundation, he also advises and invests in BEAM-based startups and chairs fellowship and sponsorship efforts there. Known for turning concurrency theory into production-grade architectures, he combines hands-on technical leadership with a long-running role in community-building and education.
