Summary
👤
Senior🎓
Top SchoolFrancesco Improta is a senior Product and Design System designer with over 20 years of experience crafting citizen-facing services, enterprise products, and scalable design systems for organizations like Ferrari, Enel, HCL Software and the Italian Department for Digital Transformation. He blends hands-on front-end skills (HTML, CSS, design tokens, component libraries) with strategic product design, enabling tight collaboration between designers and engineering teams. At the Italian government he contributes to the national Design System and front-end libraries such as Bootstrap Italia, while autonomously managing technical suppliers and design decisions. He’s equally at home leading teams and teaching—running courses on Design Systems with UXUniversity and POLI.design—so his work emphasizes people, trust and unblocking teams as much as deliverables. Francesco actively incorporates AI into design workflows to speed ideation, documentation and QA without sacrificing human judgment. His career combines agency, startup and public sector practice, giving him a rare ability to scale design language from single products to national platforms.
