Senior🎓
Top SchoolFranklin Yao is a pragmatic engineering leader and CEO with 9 years of experience building backend systems and deploying large-scale machine learning in production. He’s led small startups as CTO/CEO and shipped high-throughput ML services—ranging from a resume parser that processes millions of resumes monthly to multi-cloud microservice deployment tooling that manages 15,000+ K8s clusters. At Meta he worked on generative AI chatbots serving millions, and he’s comfortable across Go, Java, Python, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure). Franklin blends hands-on engineering with product and operational ownership, having reduced on-call incidents and improved developer experience through targeted redesigns and documentation. Based in Fremont with a Master’s in ECE from Purdue, he pairs research experience in few-shot and contrastive learning with a founder’s instinct for shipping customer-impacting features. An avid programmer beyond the job title, he enjoys tackling hard systems and ML challenges from prototyping to production.
